The Oxford American magazine has published my new poem in its Spring 2023 edition, which just came off the presses. The poem is inspired by Dred and Harriet Scott, and is entitled “Who is Sam Blow?”

This poem is a part of the forthcoming No Tears Project St. Louis events, set to take place in St. Louis in April 2023 in partnership with Gateway Arch National Park and Jazz St. Louis , among others.

In addition to the panel discussions and new music (by Oliver Lake and Brian Owens) that’s been commissioned for premiere April 28-29 at Jazz St. Louis, Oxford American also commissioned me to create this new longform work which I will read with musical accompaniment during the 4/28 – 4/29 concerts.

This poem is a part of the forthcoming No Tears Project set to take place in St. Louis in April in partnership with Gateway Arch Park & Jazz St. Louis , among others!
