Tabling at the HBCU fair Saturday, February 18

Many of you may know that I have a business —HOW TO FIND SCHOLARSHIPS — where I teach college bound families how to find scholarships.

Reading poetry at Jefferson College Wednesday, February 22

I love reading and performing poems from my book chop: a collection of kwansabas for fannie lou hamer .

Speaking about Recitation Film Project at Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, February 25.

Several years ago I collaborated with a professor and a filmmaker to have high school students read from the testimony of survivors of the 1917 East St. Louis Riot. This is an opportunity to share about the genesis and offer reflections.

I’ll be speaking on a Panel about Hip Hop for the Jackson State University (JSU) Speech department on Monday, February 27. (My Alma Mater!)

One facet of my personal history is that I formed a rap group while I was in high school. We went on to be signed to M.C. Hammer’s label, release an album and tour nationally. This panel is an opportunity to share a perspective of a “female MC” and Mississippi native.

And, I’ll be speaking at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) for the kick off of Women’s History Month on Wednesday, March 1st!
