The #BlackSkilletfunders community decided to split the money between N’dea, Kwame, and Aja! The night was glorious! It was held at the Fannie Lou Hamer house, conveniently located a block away from the Belleville metrolink station.

Founded by Visual Artist & Usui Reiki Master Teacher Itshanapa Dail Chambers, and I, The Black Skillet Funders’ quarterly dinner is where we serve our favorite African, African-American, Black, and Southern traditional foods to members, artists and the public. Our dinner meal is $10 a plate. Funds are awarded to proposed projects based on a group centered selection process.

Aja La’Starr Owens, Poet, who says, “Thanks to Treasure Shields RedmondDail Chambers and everyone a part of Black Skillets, I was able to use the funds I won last week to donate my children’s book to kids at Gateway 180. They truly enjoyed the book!  I cannot thank you all enough!!!!”
