Women, White Folks, & Liquor

The Memoir My Dad Wouldn’t Write is a Radically honest conversation between a daughter and her dad. My dad has had an incredible life as a poet, activist, professor, and cultural worker. He wouldn’t write a memoir, so this series of conversations is partly that.

John Henry Redmond was named for a strong man. He was my Dad’s hero, and a man of innumerable talents. So why did he essentially abandon his nine children upon the passing of my dad’s mother, spend the rest of his days in semi-hiding, ending his life buried under an assumed name? In this episode we find out why.
