The namesake of Fannie Lou Hamer House was a civil rights activist who used her singing and knowledge of spirituals and freedom songs toward the liberation of Black people. As co-hosts and artists ourselves, we — Dr. Treasure shields Redmond and Dail Chamber —  seek to provide refuge for fellow creatives who — like Fannie Lou Hamer — are often the interpreters of our pain, and who labor on our behalf with little to no rest or respite.

You are invited to apply to the FREE Fannie Lou Hamer House Artist Residency here: https://forms.gle/j3GVN1YjHFNEgsBt9

Selected artists receive 5 days to live and work outside of their usual environments, providing them with time to reflect, research, or produce work. This is an application for a 5-day residency for visual artists, writers, actors, and performance artists. Residency provides housing; artist responsible for travel, materials, and local transportation.
